SYNGENTA GULF EVENT LAUNCHES EXPANDED L&G BUSINESS AND NEW COMMITMENT
Syngenta Lawn & Garden has relaunched its business in the Gulf states, covering the highly important markets of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
Reaffirming Syngenta’s commitment to customers in the region at the autumn launch in Dubai, Yousef El-Zaza , Commercial Head L&G Controls for MENAF, Turkey and the Balkans, introduced a series of new products that will all have valuable uses in the region’s turf and landscape management.
Yousef, above, left, also introduced the company’s new distribution channel, Polyclean LLC, selected to provide greater support and delivery.
Included in the extended product range were two new herbicides, Tenacity and Fusilade II, the novel insecticide, Acelepryn, and the unique wetting agent, Qualibra.
Yousef adopted the now well established format of ‘Turf Science Live’ stations, to engage with visitors, stimulate interaction and help understand and explain the practical applications of Syngenta products.
He highlighted that the format enabled Technical Manager, Marcela Munoz, to present the latest R&D findings on using the combination of Primo Maxx and new Qualibra to help superintendents save water, improve turf quality and reduce costs – all key aspects for the region’s industry.
“The attendees really appreciated that we invested in bringing the renowned ‘BugDoctor’ – Professor David Shetlar, all the way from Ohio State University, to share his world-leading entomology experience and insights into insect pest control, linked to the use of Acelepryn,” added Yousef.
All the visitors were grateful to receive a Syngenta-branded high-powered microscope that could be attached to their mobile phone. They can take pictures of pests, weeds or diseases in the field and send them into Syngenta specialists for identification and control solutions.
“Along with the event’s launch of XC Nozzles, it clearly demonstrated the on-going support and advice that we are providing to end-users in the region,” he said.
“The whole event was extremely well received and generated an immense amount of enthusiasm for our products, and the way that they are being brought to the market in the region,” reported Yousef.
“It has firmly re-established Syngenta as the leader in the market for the region, with everybody really keen and excited to be working with us in the future.”
The Dubai event was also attended by Simon Elsworth; Rod Burke; Marcela Munoz and Dr. Mitra Sowmya, Head Turf & Landscape APAC.
