Acelepryn is now fully approved for the control of chafer grubs and leatherjackets in sports pitches, golf greens, tees and fairways, golf roughs, racecourses and gallops, bowling greens, airfields, and professional application to commercial and residential lawns, subject to specific restrictions on the percentage of the area being treated.

Very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Dangerous to bees. To protect bees and pollinating insects do not apply to crop plants when in flower. Do not use where bees are actively foraging. Do not apply when flowering weeds are present. An Aquatic Buffer Zones of 5 metres must be observed. Since there is a risk to aquatic life from use, users not applying the statutory buffer zone must either themselves carry out or ensure that someone else has carried out a Local Environment Risk Assessment for Pesticides (LERAP) on their behalf before each spraying operation from a horizontal boom sprayer. Users must not allow direct spray from horizontal boom sprayers to fall within 5m of the top of the bank of any static or flowing waterbody or within 1m of a ditch which is dry at the time of application (these distances to be measured as set out in the guidance documents available from HSE Chemical Regulation Division’s website and any amendments that are made to it) unless: (a) The LERAP indicates that a narrower buffer zone will be sufficient; and (b) Any measures indicated by the LERAP as justifying the narrower buffer zone are complied with in full and in accordance with any conditions applicable to them. For use on golf courses in the areas of tees, greens and fairways (managed amenity turf) the total surface area treated must not exceed 10% in any given situation. For use on golf courses in the area of golf roughs (amenity grassland) the total surface area treated must not exceed 10% in any given situation. When applying to Amenity Grassland: Use is authorised only on golf roughs, and airfields that are frequently mown (at least once a week during summer months). To protect aquatic organisms, this product must be applied only as a targeted treatment to areas of infestation. Monitoring and identification of insect larval populations within the soil profile should be undertaken where possible. The total surface area treated must not exceed 10% of the total area of managed amenity turf (with the exception of residential lawn use), or amenity grassland in any given situation. |

Implementation particular terms |
For use as a professional insecticide only. ACELEPRYN is approved for application at a rate of 0.6 litres per hectare on approved managed amenity turf and amenity grassland surfaces. ACELEPRYN is aimed to target 1st and 2nd stage instars as soon as possible after egg hatch. Application when peak flight of adults (chafer bug species or crane fly) has been identified will ensure the product is in the soil target zone at the time of egg hatch. Mixing and spraying |
Make sure the sprayer is set to give an even application at the correct volume. Apply as a medium spray. Fill the spray tank with half the required volume of clean water and start agitation. Add the required amount of ACELEPRYN and continue agitation whilst adding the rest of the water. Agitate the mixture thoroughly before use and continue agitation during spraying. Take particular care to avoid overlapping of spray swaths. Thoroughly wash all spray and measuring equipment with water immediately after use. |
