Golf Environment Awards open and easy to enter
The Golf Environment Awards 2022 are open for entries, including the prestigious Syngenta Operation Pollinator Award. Organised by the STRI, this year the Awards are easier to enter than ever.

Along with the Operation Pollinator Award, there's the chance to win prizes and accolades for:
- Environmental Golf Course of the Year
- Outstanding Environmental Project of the Year
- Conservation Greenkeeper of the Year
Entry now simply involves one easy to complete on-line form, and then the organisers will sort into the most appropriate category. It's designed to encourage as many courses as possible to enter and get involved.
"Protecting today's environment for tomorrow has never been more important," reported STRI ecology consultant, Meg Stone.
"Finding solutions to the increasing challenges posed by climate and environmental factors, whilst maintaining optimal course conditions and playability, is an ongoing task.
"Working with our partners, we believe that recognising clubs and courses who are already actively contributing to sustainable future-proofing is hugely important."
The Golf Environment Awards recognise the inspirational projects and everyday efforts that greenkeepers and their teams are undertaking to protect the environment in which they live, work and play.
"Our aim is to recognise all projects and individuals who are contributing to nature conservation and environmental sustainability," enthused Meg.
"That may be large scale initiatives, or simply making small, regular contributions that serve to have a long-term impact."

Caroline Carroll, Syngenta Operation Pollinator manager, added: "Golf courses can create a hugely valuable ecological resource, directly alongside providing the optimum playing surfaces for their customers.
"The Golf Environment Awards gives the opportunity to celebrate the efforts and successes of the whole industry - and demonstrate the immense contribution it makes to the wider environment."
"It also gives the excellent chance to share experiences, best practice and develop the knowledge of how courses can actively promote pollinators, along with managing turf," she added.
