When should I start Primo Maxx applications?
Primo MAXX applications can start as soon as grass is growing consistently; this normally occurs from mid April to Mid May, depending on location. Consistent growth takes off when air and soil temperatures average above 8 - 10ºC for an extended period of time, such as more than five consecutive days.
Why is spring the best time to start Primo MAXX applications?
The aim is to trigger grass into regulation mode as early as possible, so that it diverts as much energy as possible into lateral growth and root development - where you will see the greatest effects in terms of turf density and the best results in stress resistance.
Normally the root mass of most UK turf species declines over the spring and early summer, which exacerbates any effects of drought; maintaining a deeper root structure can help to delay any effects, and help turf recover quicker.

Can Primo MAXX help avoid stress this spring?
Spring is an intensive time for turf management, including mowing, verti-cutting and coring, as well as heavy demand for play, often in inclement conditions. Tough environmental conditions - with cold nights or wet periods - can further compound stress on plants.
The stronger root structure from Primo MAXX use, combined with a smaller leaf area, can help to minimise any effects of stress and help plants to recover faster and stronger. Reduced leaf growth means less is removed with each cut, so plants are less stressed. The stronger root structure also means plants are better able to utilise fertiliser applications, as well as using available water more efficiently, thereby reducing stressful environmental effects.
Can I use Primo MAXX during spring over seeding?
Our trials have shown that Primo MAXX can help stimulate a better take when over seeding turf, with stronger seedling rooting and reduced competition from existing turf enabling better establishment.
Can I tank mix Primo MAXX with other products?
Healthy turf growth normally requires nutritional input. Most turf managers who have used Primo MAXX have also tank mixed appropriate liquid fertiliser as this eliminates the need for separate applications and can enhance the overall effect of each Primo MAXX application.
For other tank mixes, including herbicides and fungicides, consult your technical advisor before application.
Can I use Primo MAXX on all grass species?
Yes, trials have shown that Primo MAXX is safe on all grass species, please follow label instructions for different grass species and different heights of cut.
