News Feature - Cut the stress of turf management

Turf managers are under constant pressure to create the best possible playing surfaces. But it's not just groundsmen and greenkeepers who will feel the heat this summer - your turf can be suffering from stress too.

Pre-stress conditioning can help prepare turf grass for extreme conditions before they hit. A program which includes an application of Primo MAXX plant growth regulator prior to the onset of stresses - such as hot weather, drought, disease and heavy wear - can strengthen the turf, and allow it to withstand pressure more effectively.

Physiological changes within Primo treated turf makes it more resistant to stress conditions.  Plants have bigger root systems and increased lateral stems, making them better able to draw moisture and nutrients and withstand excess wear and tear. They also have more storage capacity for food reserves that can be used during periods of stress.

Furthermore, trials have shown Primo treated turf has an increased concentration of chlorophyll - making it look healthier and work more efficiently. The level of cytokinins in the treated leaves ensures plants stay greener, whilst enhanced ABA levels aid the plant manage water use more effectively.

The science has proven what many groundsmen and greenkeepers already know - Primo MAXX can help cut the stress of turf management this summer.
