Greenkeepers from across Europe are being invited to play their part in the Ryder Cup experience, with 10 places up for grabs to join the support team at Le Golf National.
It’s been made available through the European collective of greenkeepers’ associations – FEGGA – along with its partners, Capillary Concrete and Le Golf National.
For the UK and Ireland, all Association members can apply through BIGGA and GCSAI.
Alejandro Reyes, Course Manager at Le Golf National, said: “We would like to share the experience as much as we can with all greenkeepers and superintendents from different Associations.
“We are working with FEGGA to open the opportunity to as many people as possible, so please do apply,” he urged.
FEGGA Executive Officer, Dean Cleaver, highlighted it will provide unparalleled hands-on experience at preparing and maintaining the Albatross Course at Le Golf National, both before and during the Ryder Cup Matches.
“It will also be combined with educational sessions, and career development clinics, led by leading teachers in our industry. We also will make the education and career clinics available to all volunteers whatever route they have been chosen from," he pointed out.
“This will be seven days of unique experience, and education; meeting colleagues from all countries in a work/education environment - topped with the electrifying excitement of the live Ryder Cup experience,” Dean added.
“No matter where they are from, how big the club or the budget they work with, this is an incredible opportunity. It also builds on one of the strong missions of FEGGA of ‘Bringing people and Organisations together’.”
FEGGA represents 23 greenkeepers’ associations across Europe, South Africa and the US.
Full details are available on the Associations’ websites, with the closing date for entries on 16 March.
